BOONNE:- In the name of God Amen In the year of our Lord God 1580. I William BOONNE [BOONE] of Ffordington within the peculiar jurisdiction of Sarum being sick in body but perfect of mind and memory (thanks be unto almighty God) do ordain and make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say:
First: I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my heavenly father maker redeemer and Saviour and my body to be buried in the Christian burial //
of ffordington aforesaid.
Itm: I give and bequeath unto the Church of Sarum vjd [6d]
Itm: I give unto the church of Fordington vjd [6d]
Itm: I give unto the poor mens box in Fordington one sheep called a pure hogg.
Itm: I give and bequeath unto Margaret BOONNE my sister xxtie sheep, a kettle of brass the greatest, Ten bushels of malt and two acres of wheat in the field, one lying in fovute? and two half acres lying at leape cross?
Itm: Whereas I received £5 of my foresaid sister Margaret given unto her my the last will and testament of my uncle Roger ZEAGER [SEAGER] deceased my will is that my foresaid sister shall have delivered unto her in full payment of the foresaid £5 twenty sheep (ten ewes and lambs and ten weather sheep) and one acre of wheat lying in Marell
Itm: I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth BOONNE my sister ten shillings, ten bushels of wheat, one acre of wheat lying at Templade? and a ring which is in the custody of John SEAGER Junior
Itm: I give and bequeath unto Agnes BOONNE my sister twenty bushels of barley, ten bushels of wheat, one acre of wheat lying at Long Barrow four ewes and lambs one pair of blankets
Itm: I give and bequeath unto every one of my godchildrena ewe and a lamb each.
All the Rest: and residue of my goods chattels and debts moveable and unmoveable whatsoever and not before given I give and bequeath unto my brother Robert BOONE whom I do ordain and make my whole executor
Itm: My will is that the part and portion which have before been given unto my sister Margaret shall remain and be in the use and custody of my brother Robert BOONNE until the day of her marriage
Itm: My will is that the part and portion which have before been given unto my sister Elizabeth shall remain and be in the use and custody of my brother Robert BOONNE until the day full end of two years after my decease
Itm: My will is that the part and portion which have before been given unto my sister Agnes shall remain and be in the use and custody of my brother Robert BOONNE until the day full end of one whole year after my decease
Itm: Also my Will is that if any of my foresaid sisters shall happen to decease before the time they shall receive their legacies that then her part and portion so deceasing shall be equally divided amongst the rest living.
And: to this my last will and testament I constitute and ordain and make Richard PROWER and Thomas EAMES my overseers and to take sufficient care? of my foresaid brother Robert that the legacies before given may be delivered and paid according to the contents of this my Testament.

[Written in Latin to the effect :-] Know all men by these presents that Robert BOONNE of Fordington in the County of Dorset husbandmen, and Thomas EYMES [EAMES] of the same place in Dorset Husbandman are firmly bound unto Mr Thomas DILWORTH --- etc probably an official of the Dean of Sarum and prebendarey of Forington and Writhlington--------dated 6th day in the month of February in the 24th year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1581
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Robert BOONNE the executor of the last Will and Testament of William BOONNE late of Fordington deceased, his executors administrators or assigns or any of them, do well and truly satisfy content and pay, or cause to be well and truly satisfied contented and paid, all such gifts legacies and bequests as are given willed and bequested in and by the last will and testament of her said deceased according to the tenor effect and true meaning thereof then this present obligation to be void and had for noughtor else yet to stand remain and abide in his full strength force effect and virtue. |
